With Valentine’s Day (February 14) fast approaching, celebrity relationships are once again drawing heightened public attention. Fans are eager to see which stars might be “exposed” or choose the romantic holiday to confirm happy news. In Chinese showbiz, the first major dating rumor of the season broke in the early hours of February 9, when Hou Minghao and Snow Kong were suddenly swept into intense speculation.

According to an entertainment blogger, the two stars born in 1997 and 1996 respectively have allegedly been in a secret relationship for three years, dating back to 2022. The blogger released what was described as a “chain of evidence,” focusing on supposed couple items, overlapping schedules, and subtle social media hints.

Among the details cited were similarities between tableware patterns and phone cases seen in Snow Kong’s photos and items believed to appear inside Hou Minghao’s home. In addition, the pair were said to have shared overlapping schedules in Beijing and Hengdian (Zhejiang) during the same periods, particularly from September 2022 to May 2023 a time when neither artist had publicly announced new drama projects.

Another point that fueled speculation was a so-called “love code.” Snow Kong once posted the phrase “one white, one blue” on her personal social media. Coincidentally, Hou Minghao was portraying a character named Bai Lan (“White Blue”) around the same time. This led some netizens to believe her post was a subtle show of support for his work.
However, the rumors were quickly shut down. Hou Minghao and Snow Kong both denied the dating claims just 12 minutes apart, each posting a single word “fake” on their respective social media accounts. The fact that both responses were issued in the early morning hours and within minutes of each other surprised many netizens, who remarked on the speed and coordination of their crisis management.

Snow Kong, born in 1996, rose to pan-Asian popularity in 2020 through the survival program Youth With You 2. Known for her standout visuals and balanced skill set, she earned nicknames such as “Princess Snow” and “Hair-Flip Princess.” After the show, she signed with Mountain Top, though her activities were not promoted as aggressively as some of her fellow contestants.

Hou Minghao, born in 1997, has appeared in a number of dramas including A Girl Like Me, When We Were Young, Cambrian Period, and Our Times. Despite being favored by producers and maintaining a strong fanbase thanks to his striking visuals, he has yet to secure a definitive career-defining role.
As Valentine’s Day draws closer, the brief but explosive rumor involving Hou Minghao and Snow Kong once again highlights how quickly dating speculation can spread in Chinese entertainment and how closely fans scrutinize even the smallest details in young stars’ personal lives.
