The actor has already chosen his next project, joining the cast of tvN’s upcoming historical romance drama Whale Star. Set in Gyeongseong (present-day Seoul) in 1926 during the Japanese colonial era, the drama tells the story of Heo-sua, a maid working for a pro-Japanese family, whose life changes after she rescues independence activist Kang Ui-hyun from the sea. Against the backdrop of Korea’s independence movement, the series explores love, sacrifice, and patriotism during one of the nation’s most turbulent periods.
Heo Nam-joon will portray Song Hae-su, an independence fighter who lost his family in the Primorsky (Russian Far East) tragedy.
