On January 12, Taiwanese media outlet Ettoday reported that Chinese entertainment paparazzi recently released footage involving actors He Changxi and Su Yiyang, quickly igniting widespread discussion across social media platforms.
In a video shared by a well-known entertainment blogger, He Changxi was reportedly seen heading directly to Su Yiyang’s residence after finishing work. The two actors were captured embracing at the entrance, with footage also showing Su Yiyang placing his hand near He Changxi’s underarm area. The visibly intimate interaction immediately drew attention and fueled speculation about the nature of their relationship.
According to online sources, rumors surrounding He Changxi and Su Yiyang have circulated for some time. The two previously worked together on a web drama and were later frequently spotted by netizens appearing at the same gym. Additionally, they were rumored to have traveled together to the Hangzhou West Lake area during a vacation in 2024, further intensifying speculation about a close personal connection.
He Changxi, 29, is a former contestant on Youth With You and a former member of the boy group UNINE. After leaving the group, he has been transitioning into acting and is set to appear in an upcoming television drama adapted from a boys’ love (BL) novel. Meanwhile, Su Yiyang, born in 1995, graduated with a master’s degree in Acting from the Beijing Film Academy in 2016 and has appeared in idol dramas, including Hard to Coax.
Following the emergence of the intimate footage, some viewers questioned whether the situation could be a publicity move intended to attract attention ahead of He Changxi’s new BL project. However, others dismissed this theory, pointing out that Su Yiyang is not involved in the upcoming drama, making intentional promotion less convincing.
Ettoday further noted that what makes this incident particularly unusual is the rarity of mainland Chinese paparazzi publicly tracking or reporting on same-sex relationships involving celebrities.
