“Hangout with Yoo” announces two members’ withdrawals, “We’ll take a 2-week break for program reorganization”

Suffering controversies over poor ratings and boring materials, “Hangout with Yoo” eventually decided to reorganize the program.

On June 5th, the production team of MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo” said, “Jung Joon Ha and Shin Bong Sun, who have been with us for the past two years, will leave ‘Hangout with Yoo’ after the last broadcast on June 10th”.

They added, “We’re very grateful to Jung Joon Ha and Shin Bong Sun, who have brought bright smiles to viewers with all their hearts”.

With the announcement of PD Park Chang Hoon withdrawing from the show, “Hangout with Yoo” will spend two weeks off to reorganize its program.

The production team explained, “We will be taking a break in the third and fourth weeks of June”, adding, “PDs Kim Jin Yong and Jang Woo Sung are expected to be the main directors for ‘Hangout with Yoo’.”

The show is scheduled to resume its broadcast on July 1st. In this regard, the production team stated, “We will come back with a stronger appearance. To all viewers, thank you so much”.

Hangout with Yoo

Planned by PD Kim Tae Ho and Yoo Jae Suk, “Hangout with Yoo” was on air for the first time in July 2019. In particular, Yoo Jae Suk garnered keen attention by showcasing various “sub-characters” in this program.

After PD Kim Tae Ho left MBC, PD Park Chang Hoon took over the directing position, and transformed the show from a one-person format to a multi-member format by adding Jung Joon Ha, Haha, Lee Mi Joo, Shin Bong Sun, Lee Yi Kyung, and Park Jin Joo to the cast lineup.

Despite various attempts to change its format, “Hangout with Yoo” struggled to make a breakthrough from the 3-4% rating range, leaving a great disappointment.
