Handsome model fired for stealing the spotlight from Jennie – Kylie Jenner at the Met Gala
The male model has just spoken out about being fired by the Met Gala organizers
On May 5th, Dailymail reported that Italian model Eugenio Casnighi had been fired by the organizers of the Met Gala 2024 just before the official event. Previously, Eugenio Casnighi was tasked with welcoming and escorting guests at the Met Gala scheduled for May 6th (US time).
The model confirmed the news of him being fired: “I worked at the Met Gala as a guest liaison in 2022 and 2023. I was supposed to continue this job at the Met Gala this year. But today, they fired me just because I went viral at the Met Gala last year. They said I wanted to take advantage of appearing alongside artists to attract attention to myself and become famous.”
Eugenio Casnighi went viral at the Met Gala 2023 with his striking appearance while escorting Kylie Jenner. He also gained significant attention with his appearance in an interview video with BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
At times, Eugenio even stole the spotlight from Jennie – Kylie Jenner when many viewers focused on his handsome visuals. In fact, in a video where YouTuber Emma Chamberlain interviewed Jennie, the camera unexpectedly shifted towards Eugenio.
Eugenio Casnighi explained that he didn’t intentionally attract attention to himself: “Photographers take pictures of artists, not me, of course. For example, when they took pictures of Kylie Jenner, I stood right next to her. So, of course, I was also in the picture. Yet they blame me and say I want to attract attention to myself and then decide to fire me.”
The model also revealed that he was mistaken for an artist when appearing at the Met Gala: “I didn’t wear a badge, so at first, some artists didn’t know I was a staff member at the Met Gala. But when they found out about my job, they suddenly changed their attitude. They gradually became distant, stopped talking to me, and interacted with other guests at the event.”
