Popular actress Han Ji‑min is drawing attention as she is reportedly considering a role opposite Lee Byung‑hun in the upcoming spy drama Koreans (working title). According to industry sources, Han Ji‑min has received an offer to play the wife in a spy couple for director Ahn Gil‑ho’s highly anticipated project. The drama has been in preparation since last year and is set to begin filming later in 2026.
Han Ji‑min, who is currently awaiting the premiere of JTBC’s new weekend drama The Practical Guide to Love next month, was offered a lead role in Koreans, previously considered by actress Jun Ji‑hyun before she withdrew due to scheduling conflicts.

Her agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed the offer, stating, “It’s true that Han Ji‑min has received an offer to appear in Koreans. However, she already has scheduled commitments, so we will make a final decision after further discussions.”
If Han Ji‑min accepts the role, it could mark the third project where she and Lee Byung‑hun appear in the same production. Although both starred in All In (2003) and Our Blues (2022), they did not share scenes together Han Ji‑min played the younger version of Song Hye‑kyo’s character in All In and had no direct interaction with Lee Byung‑hun’s character in Our Blues. Should her casting be confirmed, it would be especially meaningful to see her return as an adult actress acting alongside her senior on screen.
Koreans is a Korean adaptation of the popular American FX series The Americans. Set during the Cold War era, the original story follows Soviet spies undercover in the United States. For this remake, the narrative will be reimagined against the backdrop of Korea’s turbulent 1980s military dictatorship, drawing attention for its bold reinterpretation. Director Ahn Gil‑ho, known for his meticulous visual style, has been developing the project since last year.

Production is being handled by Studio AA, and discussions are reportedly underway with global streaming platforms to secure distribution, given the large production scale required. Casting is expected to be finalized soon, with filming slated to begin in the first half of the year.
Fans are buzzing with anticipation at the possibility of a “legendary” pairing Han Ji‑min, praised for her strong performances and timeless beauty in hits like Love Scout and Heavenly Ever After, alongside world‑renowned star Lee Byung‑hun. Whether this high‑profile collaboration comes to fruition remains one of the most talked‑about developments in Korean entertainment.
