In Disney+’s series “Moving”, which was released in August, Han Hyo-joo appears as Lee Mi-hyun, a mother who hides her past and raises her son alone. Her superpower is extraordinary five senses and her son Bong-seok (Lee Jung-ha) is a boy who can fly. Through this drama, Han Hyo-joo successfully portrayed the big change in the life of her character, from a melo-romance with Kim Doo-sik (Jo In-sung) to a tough mother who does everything to protect her son.

In “Believer 2”, Han Hyo-joo plays Big Knife, the closest associate of Mr. Lee, a big figure in the Chinese drug world. In order to transform into Big Knife, she made her skin look darker, tried a messy hairstyle and wore dentures. To build a muscle body for this role, Han Hyo-joo worked out intensively without drinking water for three days. Despite her hard work, “Believer 2” still received mixed responses and some even argued that the character did not suit her. As such, this transformation might not be considered a 100% success.
