“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Ha Yoon-kyung, “Choi Soo-yeon’s confession to Kwon Min-woo happened a little out of the blue… It’s okay if we can’t make Season 2”

Actress Ha Yoon-kyung talked about her love line with Joo Jong-hyuk in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”.

ENA’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”, which ended on August 18th, depicts Woo Young-woo (Park Eun-bin), who has both a genius brain and autism spectrum disorder, solving various cases and growing into a true attorney at a large law firm. In the drama, Ha Yoon-kyung appears as Choi Soo-yeon, Woo Young-woo’s law school friend and colleague at Hanbada law firm. This character gives Woo Young-woo harsh but good advice and warm consideration.

In response to the reaction that said, ‘I feel quite disappointed about the love line between Choi Soo-yeon and Kwon Min-woo (Joo Jong-hyuk) in the second part of the drama’, Ha Yoon-kyung said, “I understand this opinion”. She added, “There are so many stories that the drama had to cover so the story of the two didn’t have a gradual development. That’s why I tried to make it not look like something happen out of a sudden. I added a lot of moments and included the scene of a refusal.”

She continued, “I also think the scene where Soo-yeon made a confession that didn’t look much like a confession to Kwon Min-woo happened a little out of the blue”, adding “But I think that’s something I could say as a colleague. I acted as if Soo-yeon was seriously saying her desire to change her colleague rather than confessing her love. I tried to not look too in love but showed a serious and calm expression.”

Kwon Min-woo is very responsible when it comes to his work and he has his own strengths but they seem to have been overshadowed by the ‘Tactician Kwon Min-woo’ image. After going to Jeju Island and getting closer to each other, Soo-yeon probably witnessed that bad image of him gradually disappear. Seeing that side of Kwon Min-woo, wouldn’t Soo-yeon develop affection for him?”, she said.

When asked about her thoughts on Season 2, Ha Yoon-kyung said, “I hope we can do it (Season 2), but it’s okay if we can’t. Finishing a drama successfully like this is already enough to make me feel good. If Season 2 is produced, I hope to see a grown-up Soo-yeon in both work and love. I would be so interesting to see Soo-yeon becoming less emotional, doing her work in a more mature way and looking more relaxed.”
