Grammy is accused of using BTS for fame and here’s why
ARMYs are furious BTS was only nominated for one category at the 2022 Grammy
Contrary to the huge expectations from fans, BTS did not bring home any Grammy nominations for the “Big Four” categories (including the 4 most important awards: Album of the Year, Song of The Year, Record of The Year, Best New Artist) although they had a year of “conquering” the Billboard Hot 100 chart with Butter.
The world-famous boygroup also received only one nomination in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category and will be competing against “big” opponents, especially “I Get A Kick Out Of You” by Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet, “Higher Power” by Coldplay, “Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat and SZA, and “Lonely” by Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco. At the 2021 Grammy, BTS also received a similar nomination for Dynamite but lost to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande‘s “Rain On Me.”
Expectedly, BTS’s fans around the world expressed their anger with countless heavy criticisms directed at the Recording Academy for giving their idols only one nomination which they have a low chance of winning. Angry posts from ARMYs are everywhere on social networks.
ARMYs pointed out that “Butter” was a global hit that brought an impressive series of achievements and records for BTS. Therefore, the fact that BTS received only one nomination for “Butter” made their fans feel offended.

Some claimed that “Permission To Dance” deserves a nomination due to the positive and healing message that BTS conveyed during the pandemic. Those who agreed with this opinion also emphasized that “Permission To Dance” is more deserving than several other nominations of the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Besided, many people believe the Grammys is trying to “rely on” BTS to draw attention from fans as well as the public to the awards ceremony. They explained that the Recording Academy intentionally failed BTS in the Big Four categories for two consecutive years to create waves of controversy ahead of the event.
