On April 14, a new episode was uploaded on the YouTube channel “TEO” titled “Get Ready to Meet the ‘Perfect Crown’ Team! | EP. 135 IU, Byeon Woo Seok, Noh Sang Hyun, Gong Seung Yeon | Salon Drip.” The episode featured actors IU, Byeon Woo Seok, Gong Seung Yeon, and Noh Sang Hyun, who gathered to talk with host Jang Do Yeon about various behind-the-scenes stories.

Gong Seung Yeon, who plays Queen Dowager Yoon Yirang in the drama Perfect Crown, shared how she prepared for the role. “Wearing a hanbok made me realize that posture and movement would be different, so I took tea ceremony lessons,” she explained.

She added, “They quickly taught me details like how to hold a teacup elegantly. You can’t hook your fingers through it—you have to hold it delicately with your fingertips. It was actually very difficult.”

At this point, Jang Do Yeon brought up another surprising detail, saying, “I heard you even learned how to smoke,” referring to Gong Seung Yeon’s dedication to a previous role.

Gong Seung Yeon recalled her first feature film Aloners, saying, “I used to really hate the smell of cigarettes, but at that time I had to smoke constantly for the role.”

She continued, “When you smoke, you feel a bit dizzy, right? I didn’t know which type suited me, so I bought every kind of cigarette. I also carried all kinds of lighters in one pouch to find what felt most comfortable.”

She then shared the shocking incident. “After work, I smoked outside and went home—but I accidentally left that pouch on a bench. Inside, there was my script and a huge amount of cigarettes.”

When Byeon Woo Seok asked, “Did your name ‘Gong Seung Yeon’ appear on the script?” she replied, “Yes, it was written on it,” making the situation even more alarming.

“I woke up the next morning to head to the set, and both my script and bag were missing,” she recalled. “I was panicking, wondering what to do, when a security guard returned it, saying, ‘Seung Yeon, you left your bag behind.’”

She laughed as she added, “There were so many cigarettes inside—different kinds and lighters—so it was honestly embarrassing.”

When asked if she lived like that throughout filming, Gong Seung Yeon confirmed, “Yes, I tried hard to get used to it.” Her co-stars IU and Byeon Woo Seok reacted with admiration, saying, “That’s impressive” and “It sounds easy, but it’s really not.”
