On August 20th, a video featuring Go Min-si was released on the YouTube channel “Netflix Korea”.
On this day, Kim Yoon-seok and Go Min-si, the lead actors of Netflix’s series “The Frog”, which is set to be released on August 23rd, appeared as guests and shared various stories with MCs Calm Down Man and Lee Chang-ho.
Calm Down Man expressed his admiration for Go Min-si, “You appeared on ‘Jinny’s Kitchen 2’ and performed so well as a golden intern. How do you do your job so well?“
Go Min-si responded, “I was prepared mentally, but I also had experience working as a wedding planner before, so from my perspective, it wasn’t that I was doing exceptionally well.”
She added, “It was just expected of me, and even when I did that much, I was scolded in the past for not doing well, so in a way, I think I was just used to it.“
Hearing this, Lee Chang-ho suddenly asked Go Min-si “Can you drink a glass of water?” and expressed his sympathy, “I noticed on ‘Jinny’s Kitchen 2’ that you didn’t drink much water because you were worried about needing to use the restroom.” Kim Yoon-seok also praised her professionalism.
Go Min-si then shared how she started acting, “I was living in a rural area, and I thought that I couldn’t pursue acting unless I lived in Seoul.“
She continued, “One day, I suddenly thought, ‘If I don’t go to Seoul and try acting, I might live with regret for the rest of my life.’ I unknowingly had a desire to become an actress and to try acting ever since I was a baby.”
She recalled, “In my early 20s, I quit my job and took a chance. I don’t know where that courage came from; it was just a feeling I had. When I quit being a wedding planner, my boss said, ‘How can you say you want to act? You’re doing well and getting promoted, so why quit?’“
When Calm Down Man asked “Were you the employee of the month since they tried to keep you?“, Go Min-si replied, “Well, I did my job well.“
Go Min-si also talked about auditioning for many roles in productions like “The Witch” and “Sweet Home”. Kim Yoon-seok then offered warm advice to aspiring actors, “To those who want to become actors, if you fail an audition, don’t let it make you think that your skills or abilities are lacking. Don’t feel discouraged.“
