On January 20, a video titled “Undercover Miss Hong X Go Kyung-pyo and Fin-de-Siècle Sensibility Live” was uploaded to Na Young-seok PD’s YouTube channel, Channel Fullmoon. During the conversation with co-star Park Shin-hye, Go Kyung-pyo addressed his absence from the drama’s official production presentation.
He explained, “I wasn’t able to attend the press conference. Early that morning, I suddenly fell ill with acute gastritis and enteritis at the same time.” Joking lightly, he added that he would avoid graphic details for viewers watching during mealtime but revealed that he became severely dehydrated.

Go Kyung-pyo went on to say that he was taken to the hospital by ambulance for the first time in his life. “I was completely exhausted and had intense abdominal pain and bloating. I think a lot of inflammation had built up in my body,” he recalled. While he now speaks about the incident with humor, he admitted the situation was extremely serious at the time, adding that he usually does not cancel schedules due to illness but was physically unable to attend that day.
Previously, Go Kyung-pyo was scheduled to attend the Undercover Miss Hong press conference held on January 12 but was absent due to health concerns. His agency, CL&Company, stated at the time that he had sought medical treatment early that morning and was resting after his symptoms improved. The event proceeded with Park Shin-hye and other cast members in attendance.

Meanwhile, Go Kyung-pyo has recently drawn attention for revealing an extreme “three-day fasting” diet method on a YouTube show, sparking speculation that his intense weight loss efforts may have affected his health. Known for his dramatic physical transformations between roles, the actor has often been cited as a celebrity whose appearance changes noticeably before and after projects.
