Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun tests positive for COVID-19 + apologizes to fans and members 

Seohyun was diagnosed with COVID-19 amid Girls’ Generation’s comeback promotions. 

SM Entertainment announced on its official website on August 9th, “Seohyun tested positive for COVID-19 today. She has immediately stopped her schedule and is taking treatment and rest.”

Girls’ Generation‘s comeback promotions have also been suspended. SM added, “Inevitably, we canceled Girls’ Generation’s music show appearances (M Countdown, Inkigayo) that were scheduled for this week.” 

Seohyun expressed her regret on Instagram as she apologized to the fans and Girls’ Generation members. She wrote, “I’m sorry to SONEs and my sisters who have been waiting for our promotions more than anyone else.”

She continued, “I thought I wouldn’t get it (COVID-19) because I was healthy, but I still caught it. I’m so upset and sorry. Let’s get well soon and see each other in good health at music shows next week.”

Girls’ Generation released their 7th full album “Forever 1” on August 5th to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary.  Simultaneously with its release, “Forever 1” topped the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 31 regions around the world.

The new album contains a total of 10 songs. The title track “Forever 1” is a pop dance song. The harmonious vocals of the members and the energetic melody are the highlight, captivating listeners all over the world.
