On August 26, an interview video titled “How to Love Myself as I Am” featuring Sunny was uploaded to the YouTube channel “playlife”.
As Girls’ Generation recently celebrated their 18th anniversary, Sunny expressed her gratitude, saying, “*We’re now approaching the big milestone of 20 years. It’s nice that we can talk about things like ‘What do you want to do then?’ and ‘What would make our fans happy?’ I love that we can share conversations about both the present and the future.*”
Sunny is currently receiving producer training at A2O Entertainment, a company founded by Lee Soo-man. When asked how she began, she explained, “*It wasn’t something I dreamed of from the start. To love and protect myself more, I first studied psychology. I wanted to understand why I was always anxious and take care of myself. While studying, the company offered me the chance to work with them, and that’s how it started.*”
She added, “Through others, I had time to look back at my own beginnings. Seeing those bright eyes and hearts reminded me that work shouldn’t only bring joy to the audience but also to those who create it. I hope to become someone who can guide others without letting their hearts get hurt.”
Sunny also reflected on her shift in values. “In the past, I wanted to become someone who looked impressive. But the me I aspired to be and the me I judged myself to be were so different that I lacked confidence. Now, I’ve practiced accepting myself as I am. Studying helped, but it was really my fans who gave me the most strength,” she expressed with gratitude.
Regarding her future, Sunny reassured fans about her new path: “*I think fans may have worried when I said I was taking on a new challenge. But what I’m doing isn’t a completely new field—it’s an extension of my work. It will be a chance for you to see the Sunny of Girls’ Generation more fully, so I hope you don’t feel too anxious about it.*”
