The girl group was reported to have disbanded due to internal conflicts, but it turns out the company lied. From late 2023, Hi-L lacked resources and had minimal activities. The group’s Instagram even had all posts deleted, signaling a potential “freeze” of activities. Recently, Hi-L fans discovered that the account was renamed and given a new identity – New-L. This is expected to be a completely new group with several new members.
The development of the new group based on the old group’s account and resources has sparked controversy. Facing backlash from Hi-L fans, the CEO of SW Entertainment had to announce the disbandment of Hi-L while launching the new rookie group, New-L. On Hi-L’s X account, a post stated that Hi-L disbanded due to disagreements among members.
“Dear fans, I have worked hard until now, but I am very tired of the discord among members and things that should not happen as a K-pop singer, so I decided to give a chance to a new group. I pray that your love will be passed on to the new girl group, New-L. Thank you,” announced the CEO of SW about the disbandment of Hi-L.
After this information was released, the Hi-L members took notable actions in response. On their personal accounts, the girls updated photos together, proving the opposite. Hi-L did not seem to have conflicts as claimed by the CEO of SW. Many fans see this as Hi-L’s way of speaking out and proving that the company is lying. The group’s disbandment without a valid reason has angered fans, who are demanding that the company clarify the situation.
