Hong Kong pop icon and Twins member Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) has revealed that she made the life-changing decision to quit alcohol after experiencing worrying liver symptoms, including hand tremors. Speaking candidly during an appearance at a major anniversary celebration hosted by Emperor Group Chairman Albert Yeung, the 44-year-old star reflected on her health journey and her commitment to long-term wellness.

“I started experiencing tremors in my hands, and my doctor suspected my liver was under stress from long-term drinking. That’s when I decided to stop,” she shared. It’s now been over a year since Gillian gave up alcohol, and the results are visible—not just in her glowing appearance but also in her physical well-being.
Fans were quick to notice her revitalized look at the recent red ruby wedding anniversary event. Praised for her elegance and improved aura, Gillian revealed that since quitting alcohol, her sleep has improved significantly, and she’s slimmed down to her “4字頭” debut weight—a figure in the 40kg range. Her transformation was met with enthusiastic cheers from fans who declared, “The goddess is back!”
Fighting Edema and Returning to Form
Known for her fluctuating weight and water retention, Gillian admitted she has a body type prone to bloating. “Sometimes even drinking water makes me gain a kilogram,” she joked. Nevertheless, she emphasized that her primary motivation now is health, not just aesthetics.

“Sometimes I still want a drink, but I remind myself what it did to my body,” she said, adding that she’s learning to slow down and appreciate a quieter lifestyle. When asked about her love life, she smiled and said she’s happily single with no pressure from her family to marry.
