On July 29th, the Korean Red Cross (President Kim Chul-soo) announced that (G)I-DLE members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua each donated 10 million won, totaling 50 million won, to support flood recovery efforts.

This donation was made as (G)I-DLE recognized the significance of the Red Cross emblem used for life protection according to the Geneva Convention and decided to participate in flood relief and recovery following record-breaking heavy rains in 200 years.

All the members of (G)I-DLE expressed, “We hope that the Red Cross’s humanitarian activities will provide comfort to flood victims and help them return to their daily lives as soon as possible.”

Kim Chul-soo, President of the Korean Red Cross, stated, “We believe that (G)I-DLE’s support will be a warm consolation and a great strength to the flood victims. As a legally responsible disaster management and relief support organization, the Korean Red Cross will do its best in flood recovery activities.

Meanwhile, the Korean Red Cross has been continuously engaging in emergency relief and recovery activities for 22 days since July 8th, in areas across the country severely affected by the heavy rains, with over 2,600 staff and volunteers participating.

Founded in 1905, the Korean Red Cross has been the first to respond to disaster sites both domestically and internationally, conducting relief and recovery activities for 119 years to alleviate human suffering.
