(G)I-DLE had a clear reason for emphasizing “nude”

Girl group (G)I-DLE is back by fans’ side with an album containing “the real me”.

At 3 PM on Oct 17th, (G)I-DLE‘s fifth mini-album “I Love” media showcase was held at Cheongdam Cinecity in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

(G)I-DLE’s new album “I Love” is a story about “me“, not what anyone else wants. It contains one’s determination to take off their pretense and reveal their true self, an unadorned appearance.

Regarding the lack of an object after “I Love”, Miyeon said, “This album contains a lot of love and emotions. We tried to portray the appearance of looking for real love. The real love we found in the end was ‘to love myself’. We came to the conclusion that ‘I am loved for who I am’.”

The title song “Nxde” expresses the real image of an undecorated individual by comparing it to the word “nude“. The lyrics that boldly sarcastically criticize the obscene gaze on the word are impressive.

Soyeon, who participated in writing and composing “Nxde”, explained, “When you see the word ‘nude’, you could think ‘Isn’t it too sexual?’ However, I thought of it as ‘being my true self’ rather than ‘being naked’. My bare face without makeup on is my real face, isn’t it? That’s what ‘nude’ meant to me.”
