After GFRIEND disbanded, Sowon debuted as an actress, only to leave her new company soon after
According to a Ten Asia report on August 30th, Kim So Jung (former GFRIEND Sowon), left IOK Company without renewing her contract.
The report also stated that after the disbandment of GFRIEND, Sowon, who is now active as actress Kim So Jung, has not been featured in any project other than the webseries “Chilling Together”, which was released on CineQ.
It was expected that Sowon would show various performances in various fields after signing a contract with IOK Company, so the truth did not live up to expectations. Now, the former female idol’s future destination is unknown, but she is reportedly preparing for her 2nd solo career.
Sowon made her debut in the Kpop girl group GFRIEND 2015, where she received great love and nailed numerous hit songs such as “Rough”, “Glass Bead”, “Me Gustas Tu”, and “Navillera”.
Then, in May of 2021, news of the group’s abrupt disbandment was announced, and in August, Sowon joined IOK Company, drawing attention.
After the disbandment, Sowon also changed her stage name to Kim So Jung.
