“Gang Nam-soon” Surpassed “Do Bong-soon”’s Rating Record After Only 4 Episodes 

“Strong Woman Gang Nam-soon” has become a “strong sensation” by attracting overseas viewers along with conquering domestic ratings. 

According to Netflix ranking website FlixPatrol on October 16th, JTBC’s Saturday and Sunday drama “Strong Woman Gang Nàm-soon” (hereinafter referred to as “Gang Nam-soon”) ranked fifth in the global TV show category. 

“Gang Nam-soon” ranked No. 1 in Netflix viewing rankings in Korea, Bolivia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Peru, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam on the 14th and 15th. The drama captivated viewers beyond Asia to South America and Africa.

“Gang Nam-soon” also ranked fifth globally in the TV non-English section viewing rankings compiled from the 2nd to the 8th. 

Its domestic viewership is also gradually growing. According to Nielsen Korea, a ratings research company, on October 16th, the fourth episode of “Gang Nam-soon,” which aired on the 15th, exceeded 9.8% of the nation’s viewership. The ratings in the Seoul metropolitan area have already exceeded the 10% level with 10.5%. It also topped the non-terrestrial ratings category. 

“Gang Nam-soon” continues the popularity of its predecessor “Strong Woman Do Bong-soon” (hereinafter referred to as “Do Bong-soon”), which aired in 2017.

With “Gang Nam-soon” already overtaking “Do Bong-soon”‘s highest viewer rating of 9.7%, interest in the drama is increasing.
