On August 19, YouTube channel Zip Daesung dropped a teaser for its upcoming special episode, BIGBANG 19th Anniversary Home Sweet Home Party. The clip, ahead of its full release on August 22, featured G-Dragon stepping in as MC in place of Daesung, drawing immediate buzz from fans eager to see him back in the spotlight.
While browsing Zip Daesung merchandise during the shoot, G-Dragon noticed a logo design of his character with a scarf. Laughing, he pointed it out: “That’s not good. I’m not really good at lying.”
He then admitted candidly: “But it does look like me. I think that was me during the ‘Power’ era. I stopped wearing scarves a while ago… Actually, back then I wore them to cover up some face fat.” The confession instantly amused fans, who had long associated the accessory with his trendsetting style.
Back in the Power era, when G-Dragon released his third solo album Power in May after 11 years and 5 months, his scarf styling became a major talking point. What fans saw as a bold fashion statement was, in reality, a clever trick to conceal something he was self-conscious about.
As with many of his fashion choices, what started as a personal solution turned into a trend that fans admired and emulated —proving once again G-Dragon’s uncanny ability to set styles that resonate far beyond the stage.

Reactions to the teaser were quick to pour in, with fans amused at the unexpected honesty:
- “Only GD could turn hiding face fat into fashion history.”
- “That era was legendary—he could wear anything and make it look iconic.”
- “It’s so funny that such an iconic look came from something so simple.”
With the full Home Sweet Home Party episode just days away, fans are eager to see more behind-the-scenes moments and candid stories from the BIGBANG member.
