G-Dragon’s concert has left fans anxious after a series of unexpected incidents surrounding illegal ticket resales. Recently, G-Dragon, the leader of BIGBANG, held his solo concert titled Übermensch at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. On the morning of December 23, Yonhap News reported that police had intervened at the venue and arrested six ticket scalpers operating outside the concert site.
At the time of the arrest, the suspects were attempting to illegally resell concert tickets near the venue. Among the six individuals taken into custody, four were reportedly in their twenties. According to authorities, the suspects had coordinated their activities online, forming a group to sell tickets at outrageously inflated prices in areas close to the stadium. Their targets were desperate fans willing to pay any price for a chance to attend the highly anticipated performance by one of K-pop’s biggest stars.

Police arrived at the scene before any illegal transactions could be completed. The individuals involved were issued administrative penalties, and several suspects are currently being detained as authorities continue their investigation into the case.
Thanks to the timely intervention, G-Dragon was able to fully enjoy his solo concert with fans, free from disruptions caused by ticket scalpers operating outside the venue. On social media and online forums, fans expressed relief and satisfaction over the swift arrests, while also voicing frustration that many scalpers continue to exploit G-Dragon’s concerts for illegal profit.

This is not the first time ticket scalpers have been arrested in connection with concerts by the BIGBANG leader. Earlier in July, G-Dragon held three consecutive concerts in Taiwan, where scalpers took advantage of overwhelming demand and inflated ticket prices by up to six times their original value, generating illegal profits totaling approximately USD 678,713. Following that incident, local police arrested four individuals involved in the operation. Investigations revealed that the ringleader, identified by the surname Liu, was a former credit investigation officer who had turned to ticket scalping nearly three years prior.
The recurring incidents have intensified calls for stricter enforcement against ticket scalping, as fans continue to hope for fair access to G-Dragon’s concerts without exploitation.
