G-Dragon becomes special professor at KAIST “Happy news before comeback”

Singer G-Dragon is appointed as a special professor at KAIST

According to OSEN on June 5th, G-Dragon will receive his special professor appointment after the “Innovate Korea 2024” talk show held at the Ryu Keun-chul Sports Complex at KAIST’s main campus in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.

“Innovate Korea 2024” is an event organized by KAIST, the National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) and Herald Media Group. G-Dragon will participate in the talk show alongside KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung and Choi Yong-ho, Chief Happiness Officer (CHO) of his agency Galaxy Corporation.

During the talk show, G-Dragon is expected to discuss the future of K-pop that combines AI technology with K-content. Attention is also on whether he will reveal more about his anticipated comeback and new album set for the second half of this year.

G-Dragon expressed his thoughts, “I am honored to be an visiting professor at KAIST, which has produced countless scientific geniuses. I look forward to a great synergy, or a ‘Big Bang’, resulting from the meeting of top science and technology experts with my expertise in entertainment.”

He added, “There are an increasing number of people working with artificial intelligence in the music field, and this advanced technology enables a wider variety of creative work. Through the AI avatar developed jointly by Galaxy Corporation and KAIST, I hope to communicate more closely with fans worldwide, whom I cannot meet often.”

Since signing with Galaxy Corporation last December, G-Dragon has shown a keen interest in AI-related technology. He also attended the world’s largest electronics-IT exhibition “CES 2024” in Las Vegas last January.

Meanwhile, G-Dragon is currently preparing for a comeback with a new album slated for release in the latter half of this year. This will be his first solo album release in about 7 years, following his last one in 2017.
