From commercials to MVs, current whereabouts of the female YG trainee who did everything except debut

Before debuting in BLACKPINK, this female idol did everything during her trainee days. 

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, who was in the theater department during high school, dreamed of going to the theater and film department.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, who audition for the first time at YG to gain audition experience for her future, sang Lee Eun Mi’s “I Have a Lover” and passed immediately. She spent five years as a trainee at YG Entertainment from 2011.

During her trainee days, Jisoo did many activities before her official debut, such as filming commercials with actor Lee Min Ho and iKON, or shooting commercials for school uniforms and cameras alone. She also made cameo appearances in dramas and appeared twice in music videos.

Jisoo, who has been known for her various activities since before her debut, officially became a BLACKPINK member in 2016 at the age of 21 and started her activities in the entertainment industry. 

BLACKPINK is one of the top idol groups of K-pop 3rd generation, and is a world-class girl group that has set many records overseas and on the Billboard main chart.

BLACKPINK, who made their debut with “Whistle” and “Boombayah,” later released successive hits with all of their songs, including “Playing With Fire,” “As If It’s Your Last,” “DDU-DU-DDU-DU,” “How You Like That” and “Pink Venom.”

Among the members with outstanding skills, Jisoo is evaluated to sound the most stable when singing live. All BLACKPINK members also picked Jisoo as the member who is the best at live performances.

Jisoo has both outstanding visuals and skills. She is scheduled to debut as the last soloist of BLACKPINK, following Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa.

Regarding Jisoo’s long-awaited solo, YG Entertainment said, “We invested the maximum production cost, so you can look forward to it.” Jisoo is reportedly preparing for the final stage of her solo album during BLACKPINK’s world tour.

Meanwhile, fans are focusing their attention on whether Jisoo’s solo album will affect the future of BLACKPINK, who is about to renew their contract with YG Entertainment this year.
