Former Contestant Explains Enhypen Sunoo’s Controversial Expression During “I-LAND”

It turns out that Enhypen’s Sunoo did not make the rude expression toward another trainee’s performance as shown on “I-LAND”

In 2020, Belift Lab and HYBE organized a survival program called “I-LAND” to select members to debut in an idol group. Only 7 out of 23 trainees were chosen in the debut lineup for the final group, which is now active as Enhypen.

Among the trainees who failed to make it to the debut group, Seon is currently doing well as a solo singer, songwriter, and producer. It is known that before joining “I-LAND” and being eliminated after episode 7, Seon also competed in “Produce 101 Season 2”.

ENHYPEN’s Sunoo

Not long ago, Seon turned on a live broadcast on his SNS account to communicate with fans. When asked about “I-LAND”, he shared a story about a misunderstanding among viewers and fans who watched “I-LAND” back then.

Seon chose GOT7’s “Lullaby” to perform in episode 1 of “I-LAND”, and during the performance, Mnet also showed the reactions of other trainees and the judges. At that time, Sunoo was shown on the screen with an awkward expression as if he didn’t like the performance.

In this regard, Seon confirmed that it was Mnet’s evil edit. He emphasized, “In fact, the scene was edited in a bad way. Sunoo didn’t make that face while watching my performance”. A

Sunoo’s fans shared the video of Seon’s livestream on social media, saying Sunoo used to be criticized a lot because of that “evil edit” scene. While expressing gratitude to Seon for clarifying the controversy, many fans also criticized Mnet for their reckless editing to gain attention.
