Former AOA leader Shin Jimin to hold a fanmeeting after bullying controversy 

Shin Jimin, the former leader of girl group AOA, will be meeting with fans for the first time since Kwon Mina accused her of bullying. 

On March 3rd, Shin Jimin’s agency, Alomalo Entertainment, announced that the female idol will hold a fan meeting called “JIMIN IN THE BOX” at Bear Hall in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at 5:00 pm (KST) on March 19th. Earlier, with the release of her first EP “BOXES”, Shin Jimin has kept her promise to actively communicate with fans.

With the new album name, “BOXES”, as the concept, it is reported that Shin Jimin has prepared a special gift for fans who will attend this fan meeting, raising anticipation. In addition, since this is the first fanmeeting of Shin Jimin after leaving AOA, it draws a lot of attention.

Regarding “JIMIN IN THE BOX”, Alomalo Entertainment, said, “We prepared this fan meeting to repay the hearts of the fans who have shown great love and interest since the release of ‘BOXES’. We have decided to increase the number of seats at the concert hall so that more fans can attend, and we plan to hold another fan meeting at a different location and time.”

Meanwhile, Shin Jimin debuted in 2012 as a member of girl group AOA, and has since received great love with multiple hits such as “Short Hair”, “Mini Skirt” and “Like a Cat”. However, in July 2020, former AOA member Kwon Mina claimed that Shin Jimin had been bullying her continuously for 10 years, leading to Jimin leaving the group and going on a hiatus.

After disappearing from the entertainment industry for a while, Shin Jimin signed an exclusive contract with Alomalo Entertainment and returned as a solo singer. She released “BOXES” in February 2023, and is known to have taken the lead in composing and writing lyrics for this album, unraveling her thoughts and feelings.
