Five Under-18 Girls “Threaten” BlackPink’s Dominance

New Jeans is indeed considered a new musical powerhouse in South Korea, and their reputation is rapidly expanding on the international stage.

According to the ranking by the Korea Institute for Corporate Reputation, New Jeans continues to be the number one music group in terms of brand value in South Korea in September. BlackPink and NMIXX are in second and third place, respectively.

Data from the reputation research institute shows that New Jeans is at the top with a brand value index of 7,674,756, which is a 6.93% decrease compared to the previous month but still maintaining a high position.

In second place is BlackPink with a score of 4,475,289, ranking second while experiencing a 6.39% increase compared to the previous month.

Analysis of the large dataset shows that the most common phrases associated with NewJeans this month are “refreshing feeling,” “seductive,” and “adorable.” On the other hand, keyword analysis for the group reveals that “Super Shy,” “OST,” and “Billboard” are the most searched phrases.

Recently, New Jeans’ music products have been topping the charts with outstanding scores compared to other music groups. In September, NewJeans had two songs ranked at the top of the national digital single charts on Circle Chart, namely “Super Shy” and “ETA.” Jungkook’s “Seven” ranked third with a significantly lower score.

New Jeans debuted with the song “Attention” and gained immense popularity a few months later with “OMG.” Within just a year of their debut, the group reached 1.8 billion views on YouTube, currently holding the record for the K-pop artist with over 1 billion online streams on Spotify, surpassing the achievements of Lisa and Jungkook.

In addition to their music achievements, all five members of New Jeans are global brand ambassadors for a prestigious fashion brand, gaining international recognition and the potential for success similar to BlackPink.

While the rising success of the younger group is evident, the fate of BlackPink, the girl group that currently holds the record for the highest-grossing concert tickets worldwide, remains uncertain after the expiration of their 7-year contract in August.
