Finding Abby Choi’s remaining parts is like seeking “a needle in a haystack”, said police

After a week of searching for Abby Choi’s remains, Hong Kong police admitted that this is an almost impossible feat.

Abby Choi’s murder and dismemberment has been making headlines across the world for the past few days. Even now, after a week of searching, the police was unable to find Abby Choi’s torso and arms, though they have narrowed the area of disposal down to a landfill.

According to Orange News, since March 3rd (local time) Hong Kong police have ceased their search for Abby Choi’s remaining body parts. According to Chung Ya Lun, superintendent at the Crime Department of West Kowloon Region, their 3-day search has borne no results so far, even with the use of drone cameras. They also compared the search to the act of “like seeking a needle in a haystack”.

The same officer also told the media, “While we were not able to find the rest of Abby Choi’s remains, useful evidence has been discovered, enough for further investigation regarding the case.”

Previously on March 2nd, media outlet NextApple said that should the police be unable to find useful evidence or Abby Choi’s remaining parts, it will be hard to charge the suspects with murder, and they may stand trial for manslaughter instead. In this case, the suspects’ sentence may also be reduced.

However, according to the statements of the Superintendent of the Crime Department of West Kowloon region, the public could place their hopes that the culprit would receive an appropriate sentence.
