This is how a female student who was a representative track and field athlete in Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do grew up

This idol-actress used to show excellent physical abilities in high school and deemed a “goddess”

Former MOMOLAND member Yeon Woo, who recently transformed into an actress by taking on the role of Oh Yeo Jin in MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “The Golden Spoon”, drew attention with her gorgeous visuals.

The character Oh Yeo Jin, played by Yeon Woo, has a bold personality with a bright brain and pretty appearance. At the same time, Yeon Woo’s visuals and high energy level greatly add to the overall drama. 

Right from the 1st episode of “The Golden Spoon”, which aired on September 24th, Yeon Woo has managed to show a perfect synchronicity with her character, looking like she walked straight out of a webcomic. 

In the scene where her character expresses interest in Tae Yong (Lee Jong Won), Yeon Woo not only caught the eye with her provocative expression, but also made a strong impression by pulling off the most breathtaking moments until the last minute.

In addition, Yeon Woo exuded an arrogant and coy atmosphere as her character used subtle psychological warfare between friends, and raised the curiosity of how Yeo Jin will bring up issues in the future amid the garner interests.

At the press conference for MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “The Golden Spoon”, which was held online on September 23rd, Yeon Woo said, “Personally, I felt attracted to Yeojin.

Regarding her character Oh Yeo Jin, who’s considered the goddess of Seoul’s No. 1 high school, Yeon Woo disclosed, “Yeo Jin is the complete opposite of me, so I believe she will be breakthrough role for me. I thought I could make a lot of changes and challenge myself with Yeo Jin, so I told the producers I really wanted to play this role.” 

Yeon Woo, who has been showing strong ambitions in the acting field, debuted in 2016 with the girl group MOMOLAND. Prior to her idol debut, however, Yeon Woo trained to become an actress, and shared that she was influenced by her father, a documentary producer and cinematographer, and her mother, who majored in art.

However, the agency officials discovered that Yeon Woo, who has excellent visuals, can sing and rap well, and so prepared her as a girl group trainee, leading to her eventual debut with MOMOLAND. 

Yeon Woo would then become an idol-actress, as she took on several dramas as a MOMOLAND member. 

When she was attending the Seoul Performing Arts School, Yeon Woo was considered a “goddess” who had great height and athleticism, as well as outstanding visuals. This is certified by Jung Chae Yeon – Yeon Woo’s co-star in “The Golden Spoon”, who called the idol-actress “the goddess of SOPA”.

In addition, Yeon Woo also revealed that she was a track and field athlete during high school, and used to participate in provincial competitions as a representative of Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.

Yeon Woo’s main events were sprinting and high jump, and she appeared as the last runner in the relay race of MBC’s sport program “Idol Star Athletics Championships”, which was aired as a special on New Year’s Day in 2019.

Despite her stunning physical talent, however, Yeon Woo was not particularly interested in sports. Still, she scored a goal while playing soccer in physical education class, and excelled in special activities that have to do with physical prowess.

Even now, Yeon Woo said that she prefers Pilates to extreme sports or strenuous exercise such as fitness.
