Chen graced the cover of the August issue of @star1, conveying his honest feelings to fans through an attractive photoshoot and interview. In this photoshoot, Chen flaunts a more mature gaze and charm, adding the title ‘Reliable Chen’ to his name.
After a 1 year and 6 month hiatus, Chen has released his solo album, fully reflecting his own color. Regarding his 4th mini-album ‘DOOR,’ Chen stated, “It’s a turning point in my life,” and described it as “an album filled with countless worries and self-reflection.”
‘DOOR’ is an album that encapsulates Chen’s emotions, with him credited on 5 out of the 6 songs. Especially notable is the song ‘Dandelion,’ for which Baekhyun participated in writing the lyrics, making it even more meaningful. Chen expressed deep affection, saying, “Even though Baekhyun was incredibly busy preparing for his solo concert, he readily suggested working together. Thanks to Baekhyun, we came up with good lyrics, and I felt very reassured and grateful.”
Chen didn’t forget to express his gratitude to the fans who have been with him for 12 years since his debut. He said, “I spent all of my 20s with the fans, and this time will be the most precious and significant experience in my life.” Previously, Chen announced his marriage through a handwritten letter in January 2020, welcomed his first daughter in April of the same year, and had his second daughter in January 2022. He held a wedding ceremony with his spouse in October last year.
He also revealed that he recently started monitoring fans’ comments and reactions, saying, “I want to get closer to and communicate more with the fans. By understanding what the fans want, I think I can address those parts when I meet them,” showing his love for the fans.
Through his 4th mini-album ‘DOOR,’ Chen has showcased his charm as a top-tier vocalist and plans to continue meeting fans through various activities.
