Despite having made their comeback with a cool and sexy charm, the comeback outfits of EXO causes huge disappointment.
Starting with their performance on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on July 13th, EXO will appear on KBS2TV’s “Music Bank”, MBC’s “Show! Music Core”, and SBS’s “Inkigayo” on the 16th to showcase their title track “Cream Soda” from their latest full album, “EXIST”.
While the refined rhythm of the song easily captivated listeners, fans had mixed reactions to EXO’s first comeback stage on “M Countdown” due to their outfits, which they found disappointing.
In particular, Xiumin appeared with long hair extensions, as well as a shiny top and bottom. Sehun wore a jacket with a zebra-like pattern and jeans, while Baekhyun donned excessive necklace accessories and even a pink fur jacket.
At the same time, D.O. wore a striped suit, Chen wore a glossy jacket, and Suho and Chanyeol paired satin shirts with jeans and black pants, respectively.
Looking at the outfits, which severely clash with each other, fans express their severe disappointment. In fact, a topic titled “The disastrous coordi of EXO” was even published on the Korean forum Pann Nate, gaining huge attention with most opinions agreeing with the author.
Some fans criticized the outfits, saying, “Is this their first stage outfit? It doesn’t make sense”, and “There is no coherence, with shiny shirts, sparkles, and fur. Nothing is satisfying.”
There were even comments comparing EXO’s comeback outfits to “a night club from the 90s”.
On the other hand, some fans expressed that a combination of a white shirt and jeans or a full suit would have been more cohesive and better.
Meanwhile, EXO released their new full album, “EXIST”, on July 10th. The album consists of a total of nine songs, including the title track “Cream Soda.”
