Fans Angered as HYBE Removes BTS’s V Fancams with Millions of Views

Various fancams of BTS’s V with millions of views are being wiped off by HYBE, sparking intense anger among fans.

On September 5, various fans of BTS’s V (real name Kim Tae-hyung) started to trend hashtags like “HYBE TREAT TAEHYUNG EQUALLY” and “HYBE RESPECT TAEHYUNG” on the SNS platform X (formerly Twitter), expressing their anger.

As it turns out, the fans’ outrage stemmed from the accusation that BTS’s V’s fancam for the song “Pied Piper” was copyrighted and removed by none other than HYBE.

The fancam is known to have amassed 17 million views, suggesting huge popularity among both fans and the public, and the channel that originally posted it was also terminated for copyright issues. However, fancams of other members for the same song and in the same event are still up, meaning that V was the only “victim” of the copyright strike.

On top of this, various other fancams with varying popularity, all of V, were also removed, intensifying the fans’ sentiment.

As a result, fans started to accuse HYBE of “mistreatment” towards V, and related hashtags calling for equal treatment have garnered over 65,000 posts.

Angry comments, such as, “After all the sabotage and deleting sales, they now resort to deleting tae’s fancams”, “HYBE is genuinely ruining everything”, and “Why only Taehyung?” can be seen all over the net.
