“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” beat “Top Gun: Maverick” to top Kinolights’ content rankings for 2 consecutive weeks

ENA’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” beat Tom Cruise’s movie “Top Gun: Maverick” to maintain the top of the content rankings for 2 consecutive weeks.

According to Kinolights’ integrated content rankings in the second week of July (July 9th to July 15th), “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” topped the list following the first week of July. This ranking includes contents within OTT (online video service) and movies currently being shown at theaters.

ENA’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” is a drama about the survival at a large law firm of rookie lawyer Woo Young-woo with both a genius brain and autism spectrum disorder. The ratings graph, which started with 0.9% (Nielsen Korea’s national standard), steadily went upward and recorded a viewership rating of nearly 10% (9.6%) in the latest episode, episode 6.

The series “Top Gun” starring Tom Cruise ranked second and third side by side. The 1986 film “Top Gun”, which tells the story of Captain Maverick – a naval pilot with the best skills, took second place in the integrated rankings, and has become a hot topic following the long-term success of its sequel “Top Gun: Maverick”. 

No.3 “Top Gun: Maverick” depicts the story of Maverick, who was chosen as an instructor. The movie has attracted more than 5 million viewers since its release on June 22nd.

No.4 was the 2018 film “The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion” starring Kim Da-mi. Kim Da-mi received attention through this work. “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One” was released on June 15th and gathered more than 2.7 million viewers.

The fifth place belonged to Suzy‘s drama “Anna“. The series tells the story of a woman who lives a completely different life starting with a small lie. The final episode aired on July 9th and the extended version is scheduled to be released in August.
