The drama is directed by Kim Jin-man, known for works such as “The Greatest Love”, “Kill Me, Heal Me”, “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People”, and written by Kim Ji-soo and Park Cheol, the duo behind “Bossam: Steal the Fate”. Suho, Hong Ye-ji, Myung Se-bin, Kim Joo-hun and Kim Min-kyu confirmed their appearances.

The script reading scene of “The Crown Prince Has Disappeared” captured the high level of immersion from the main cast members right from the first meeting. Starting with director Kim Jin-man’s cheerful greeting, followed by each of the five main cast members introducing their roles and expressing their strong determination, the script reading began in earnest. Suho, portraying crown prince Yi Geon, overwhelmed the atmosphere with stable vocalization and charming expressions. Hong Ye-ji fully immersed herself in the role of Choi Myung-yoon, Joseon’s best female leader, showing acting that goes back-and-forth between cheerfulness and courage, sorrow and seriousness.

Myung Se-bin boldly expressed intensity by portraying Queen Dowager Min Soo-ryun, who had to give up love due to the constraints of her noble status. Kim Joo-hyun transformed into Choi Myung-yoon’s father Choi Sang-rok, a royal physician at naeuiwon, displaying a blend of kindness and severity.

Kim Min-kyu appeared as Yi Geon’s half-brother, Grand Prince Doseong, showcasing rough masculinity and natural charm combined with excellent martial arts skills, spreading his vitamin-like charm. Additionally, seasoned actors such as Yoo Se-rye, Jeon Jin-oh, Cha Kwang-soo and Kim Seol-jin brought deep expertise in acting, enriching the script reading scene with their strong presence.

The production team said, “From the script reading, the applause burst out for the intense presence and flawless acting skills of the cast members. We ask for a lot of interest in this fresh Joseon-era romantic comedy.”
