EXO Baekhyun’s First Overseas Departure After Declaring Legal Battle With SM Draws Attention
After leaving a warning of a legal battle with SM Entertainment, EXO’s Baekhyun departed for an overseas schedule
On June 14th, EXO member Baekhyun arrived at Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport for ‘Lonsdaleite’ in BANGKOK of his Asian concert tour.
Earlier on the 10th, IBN100, the agency of EXO-CBX (Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin), held an emergency press conference regarding their lawsuit against SM Entertainment. CBX’s side insisted that SM did not comply with the 5.5% music distribution commission rate agreed in June last year, claiming that it was unfair to demand 10% of individual artist sales. In response, SM filed a lawsuit against CBX to the Seoul Eastern District Court to request the implementation of the contract, saying “The exclusive contracts between our company and CBX are still in effect”.
Many fans flocked to the airport to see Baekhyun. Since it was his first time appearing at the airport for an overseas schedule after the press conference, fans shouted “Fighting” and “I love you” behind the male idol as he moved inside. Because of the unpleasant issues of the company, many fans gathered to support Baekhyun, causing the airport to become more crowded.
Baekhyun showed up at the airport in a simple black t-shirt and checkered wide pants. As if he was worried about the crowds, Baekhyun quickly went through the departure hall.
Meanwhile, Baekhyun has been carrying out his solo Asian concert tour in Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, and other countries. However, it is not known whether EXO’s winter comeback, scheduled for the second half of this year, will proceed as planned due to CBX’s firm determination to continue the legal battle with SM.
