On July 25, 2025 , Sana’s Fridge Interview dropped its 17th episode of Season 2 featuring none other than LE SSERAFIM’s Hong Eun-chae, in a playful and heartfelt conversation that shed light on her transformation from a trainee team leader to the group’s adorable maknae .
“I was the eldest when I was a trainee,” Hong Eun-chae shared with TWICE’s SANA, “but now I’m the youngest in LE SSERAFIM. It’s a dream come true.” ( “My dream was to debut as the youngest,” she said proudly)
Age hierarchy plays a major role in idol training culture. As the eldest trainee, Eun-chae once held leadership roles and set the tone for her peers. However, debuting as the youngest member flipped that script — and unexpectedly, she found comfort in the new dynamic. “Now, I find younger people more difficult,” she admitted with a grin.
As the only member born in 2006, Eun-chae often receives affection and protection from her older bandmates. She recalled her early debut days, where she felt shy and overwhelmed, surrounded by more experienced idols. But her unnies quickly made her feel at home. “They told me to eat well and really took care of me,” she said.
In perhaps the most touching moment of the interview, EUNCHAE reflected: “During my trainee days, I was taking care of others. But now, being taken care of — it feels really good.”
