On March 10, ENHYPEN’s agency Belift Lab announced that Heeseung would begin activities as a solo artist and released the singer’s official statement regarding the decision.
Heeseung began by acknowledging that many fans were likely surprised by the sudden news.
“First of all, I think many ENGENE (fandom name) must have been surprised to hear this news about me, and there are probably many people who are curious because it was so sudden,” he said. “The six years I’ve spent have been filled with moments that were so overwhelming and precious that words can’t fully express them. Thanks to the members who shared countless emotions with me and to ENGENE who always filled any empty space, I was able to take step after step toward dreams that once felt unreachable.”
He continued by expressing his lasting support for the group.
“I will never forget those moments, and I want to continue supporting ENHYPEN more than anyone else,” he said. “While sharing the results of the work I’ve been preparing with the company, we spent a long time discussing with many people about the best way to present it. After thinking deeply for a long time, I made a big decision to approach ENGENE with an even better side of myself, following the direction suggested by the company.”
Heeseung also acknowledged fans’ concerns and promised to meet them again soon with new activities.
“I know about your worries and the many things people are saying. I’m preparing hard so that I can meet you again as soon as possible,” he shared. “My desire to come back with a better version of myself is more sincere than anyone else’s.”
The singer added that he feels apologetic toward fans who might be shocked or concerned by the news.
“Because ENGENE have given me endless love and affection, I know you must feel surprised and worried, and that makes me feel very sorry,” he said. “But I believe those feelings come from the care and attention you’ve always shown me. I will keep the great love that ENGENE have given me in my heart as I continue moving forward.”
