Employees report former Uzurocks CEO’s delay in payment of wages to Ministry of Employment and Labor

Employees reported directly to the Ministry of Employment and Labor after former Uzurocks CEO broke his promise to pay overdue wages.

According to OSEN, former Uzurocks CEO A said he would pay overdue salaries to employees who resigned without receiving their salaries, but none of them were paid, then the deadline was promised to be June 10th. However, A eventually failed to keep his last promise. Employees reported to the Ministry of Employment and Labor for overdue wages.

In this process, Song Ji Hyo took care of the living expenses of employees who were suffering from not receiving wages from Uzurocks, even though her unsettled amount reached 900 million won. Besides, Uzurocks managers often used their personal cards to pay for expenses and claimed reimbursement from the company later. However, they did not receive any proper payment and struggled due to credit card delinquency. Belatedly realizing this fact, Song Ji Hyo let the managers use her card.

Currently, some employees have been contacted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and completed the investigation, while others are waiting to hear from labor supervisors.

An official told OSEN, “Among the employees who did not receive wages, some left the industry while some re-employed at other companies. Everyone waited for the last time when A said he would pay (overdue salaries) by June 10th, but he didn’t keep his promise and there was no contact from him.”

OSEN also tried to call former Uzurocks CEO A several times, but it was difficult to make a phone call as there was only the sound “The person you’re trying to reach…“.

Meanwhile, Song Ji Hyo filed a complaint against A on charges of embezzlement. Earlier, she notified Uzurocks of the termination of the exclusive contract and began legal action regarding the unsettled amount of 900 million won.
