On January 16, the informant who first reported the drug incident that affected G-Dragon and the late Lee Sun-Kyun appeared on the MBC current affairs and culture program “PD Note”.
According to this person, they reported the drug case in September 2024 due to his ex-girlfriend, who kept using drugs provided by a person called Kim. The report had no connection with Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon, the informant also confessed.
They further stated, “The frequency of drug use was high. However, Kim was placed under non-arrest investigation, and the media all turned towards Lee Sun-kyun. Toward the entertainment industry.”
Then, when the production team asked, “Did you expect that the name of the late Lee Sun-kyun would appeared when you made the report?”, the person replied, “I didn’t think about it. But suddenly, Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon were mentioned, and people like my ex-girlfriend were not mentioned at all.”
The informant’s words have raised questions about the media movement, which targeted celebrities like Lee Sun-kyun and G-dragon instead of the true criminals.
