“Dopojarak” Kim Jong-kook: “It’s different from ‘Running Man’… We filmed a real variety show”

Kim Jong-kook revealed the difference between his roles on “Running Man” and “Dopojarak” at the press conference of MBC’s new entertainment program “Dopojarak” held at MBC Golden Mouse Hall in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul on July 7th.

Kim Jong-kook emphasized, “I think it’ll be a good opportunity. Because of the great production team, I got to appear on the show, but I didn’t know it would be a Sunday evening program. Fortunately, it’s really different from my image on ‘Running Man’.“

As for the burden of being a “variety show expert”, he raised expectations by saying, “After meeting the members, I didn’t feel pressured because I thought they didn’t have any big entertainment greed. But we filmed a real variety show. Woo-jae also helped me a lot. It seems that he played the role of laying the groundwork rather than intentionally wanting to be funny. I think it’d be fun for friends who haven’t done many variety shows to change like dramas about growth.”

“Dopojarak” is a homme wandering travel story unfolded by 5 Hallyu messengers (Kim Jong-kook, Ji Hyun-woo, Joo Woo-jae, Noh Sang-hyun, Hwang Dae-heon) who are prominent in each field such as K-pop, drama, fashion and sports. The first episode will air on July 10th at 6:30 PM.
