Cassie Ventura, the former girlfriend of rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, says she lives in constant fear of violent retaliation after testifying against him in court.
In a three-page letter submitted to Judge Arun Subramanian, Ventura wrote:
“I still suffer nightmares and horrific flashbacks daily and must continue therapy. I truly fear that Diddy or his associates will come after me and my family. I had to move my entire family out of New York and live as quietly as possible. I am terrified that if he is released, his first action will be to retaliate brutally against me and anyone who dared to speak against him.”
Ventura, now in her late 30s, recalled testifying over four days while pregnant, describing it as the “most terrifying chapter” of her life. She alleged that from the age of 19, Diddy controlled her for more than a decade using violence, threats, drugs, and his power in the music industry.

She testified that she was forced into weekly sex parties, coerced into wearing lingerie and high heels on command, drugged and intoxicated to strip her autonomy, and sometimes ordered to have sex with male employees hired by Diddy. “Sex became my full-time job, the only way to satisfy him,” Ventura wrote, describing severe physical and emotional tolls, including illness.
On July 2, Diddy was convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution. In a sentencing recommendation filed September 30, prosecutors argued he deserves a severe prison term, writing:
“The defendant’s crimes spanned 15 years, across the U.S. and abroad, involving dozens of people. Ultimately, Ventura and another victim, Jane, were left broken physically and emotionally. Only a truly significant sentence, with many years in prison, can prevent further abuse and send a message to victims everywhere that abusers—no matter how wealthy or famous—will be punished.”
Prosecutors also noted that Diddy has shown no remorse, highlighting his contradictory stance of admitting violence during trial while later suggesting victims bore responsibility.
The case has rocked the music industry, exposing systemic abuse of power. Ventura’s courage in speaking out, despite fear for her life, underscores the ongoing struggle victims face when confronting high-profile abusers.
Her testimony has been hailed as a landmark moment in holding celebrities accountable, reminding the public that money and fame cannot shield perpetrators from justice.
