Did Girls’ Generation’s Yuri delete her recent photos out of concern for a 1 million won fine?

Girls' Generation member-actress Kwon Yuri suddenly deleted her recent photos

On July 24th, Kwon Yuri posted photos on her personal channel with the caption “PARTY“. In the photos, Kwon Yuri can be seen standing or lying on a tetrapod at a restricted beach in Jeju.

Shortly after the photos were posted, reactions poured in such as “You are not supposed to climb up there“, “It looks too dangerous. You can be fined for going up there“… As the controversy grew, Kwon Yuri deleted the photos.

Tetrapods are concrete structures used to block waves or tsunamis, first developed in France in 1949. Widely used in coastal construction around the world, tetrapods range in length from 3 to 5 meters, with larger ones weighing over 70 tons each.

In 2022, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries classified tetrapods as hazardous areas within harbors and banned access to them. Violating this rule can result in a fine of 1 million won.

The surface of tetrapods is slippery due to algae and constant contact with seawater, making them easy to slip on.
