Did ADOR Demand NewJeans Videos Be Deleted? ADOR Denies Claims, Clashes with Dolphiners Films

On Sep 2nd, director Shin Woo-seok took to his SNS to claim, “It seems that the policies have changed with the new management at ADOR. Due to ADOR’s request for deletion, all NewJeans music videos and related content that Dolphiners Films worked on and uploaded, as well as videos that were planned for future release, can no longer be made public.”

He emphasized, “Dolphiners Films and Ban Heesoo YouTube channel primarily serve as an archive for our portfolio, and no profit is generated from them. These videos and channels were created with the voluntary intention of producing good work for fans, and Dolphiners Films does not profit from them.”

Shin added, “Following ADOR’s request to remove the videos, all content has been deleted and cannot be made public. There were also future projects planned with NewJeans, which now cannot proceed. I feel sorry for the staff who worked tirelessly for months and, most importantly, for the fans who were eagerly waiting.”

In response, ADOR issued a statement on Sep 3rd, denying the claims. They clarified, “The ‘ETA’ music video director’s cut that Dolphiners Films uploaded to their SNS was an edited version that included content previously disputed with an advertiser. It was posted without proper consultation with the advertiser.

They continued, “We only requested the removal of the director’s cut video and did not ask for the deletion or suspension of uploads of all videos related to NewJeans, such as those on the Ban Heesoo channel. ADOR’s channel management policy has not changed. Director Shin Woo-seok of Dolphiners Films is spreading false information by implying that ADOR requested the deletion of all NewJeans-related videos, including those on the Ban Heesoo channel. We strongly regret Dolphiners Films’ breach of contract and the spreading of false information.”

Finally, ADOR stated, “We will take the necessary steps to ensure that the deleted NewJeans content can be uploaded to ADOR’s official channels in the future.”
