“Death’s Game” Star Seo In-guk Acknowledged A Founding Contributor Of tvN, “They Called Me Son Of CJ”

On January 12th, the YouTube channel “channel fullmoon” uploaded a new video featuring the guest appearances of Seo In-guk and Park So-dam, the lead actors of TVING’s original series “Death’s Game”.

Both actors have a close relationship with “egg is coming”, the production company in charge of entertainment programs and dramas on tvN. Seo In-guk starred in director Shin Won-ho’s first drama “Reply 1997”, while Park So-dam appeared on PD Na Young-seok’s program “Three Meals A Day”.

When PD Na Young-seok (Na PD) asked Seo In-guk to introduce himself, the actor said, “I’m Seo In-guk, the one in 720,000 men who won ‘Superstar K’ Season 1”. Hearing that, Na PD exclaimed, “You succeeded in ‘Superstar K’, then rose to stardom after starring in ‘Reply 1997’, gaining recognition in both music and acting”. Seo In-guk replied, “At that time, people called me ‘son of CJ’.”

When Na PD asked whether his original dream was to be a singer or actor, Seo In-guk revealed that he had no intention of acting. Na PD then said, “‘Reply 1997’ was a legendary drama on tvN. Before that, no one watched tvN dramas. The viewer rating was only in the range of 0% back then”.

Surprised by that fact, Park So-dam told Seo In-guk, “You did write a new history for tvN”. In response, Seo In-guk proudly said, “I did it again, right?”.

Recalling the past, the actor shared, “Back then, ‘Reply 1997’ director Shin Won-ho believed that the main characters should be actors who could speak the dialect. tvN was new and they did not have any famous directors, writers, or dramas, so everyone was scared to do it”. Na PD commented, “Seo In-guk saved CN ENM twice. This time, you come to save TVING?”, drawing laughter.
