Dawn and Jeon No-min: Exemplary Character Shines Through After Breakups

Recently, Dawn’s breakup and Jeon No-min’s divorce have been highlighted, and both have shown considerate actions towards their former partners, earning public support. While many celebrities engage in messy public disputes after breakups, thereby fueling controversy, these two have handled their separations gracefully and wisely, becoming role models for many experiencing breakups.

Dawn recently drew attention by updating his Instagram on the 14th, significantly clearing out his feed. When his ex-girlfriend, singer HyunA, announced her marriage to Yong Jun-hyung on the 8th, Dawn still had couple photos from their past relationship on his feed. Similarly, HyunA had not deleted her couple photos with Dawn, leading to discomfort among the public, who found it awkward that she kept those photos despite preparing to marry her new partner.

In 2019, Dawn appeared on MBC’s entertainment program “Radio Star” and said, “HyunA and I decided not to delete our SNS photos even if we broke up. Breaking up and getting back together is a natural thing, and we consider it a memory.” The two had gone public with their relationship in 2016 and announced their breakup in 2022. Even after their breakup, they left traces of each other on social media as a sign of respect for their past relationship.

However, with HyunA’s upcoming marriage in August, the situation changed. What was once a sign of loyalty became inappropriate for their new partners. Keeping the photos was acceptable while Dawn and HyunA were single, but it became an issue once the nation started focusing on Yong Jun-hyung’s feelings. Consequently, the public criticized them.

In response, Dawn deleted all traces of HyunA from his account, leaving only 15 photos related to his activities. Although this broke his promise with HyunA, it was a wise decision in a broader sense, and the public applauded his judgment and showed their support. However, HyunA’s photos of Dawn remain on her feed, leading many to question her “cool attitude.”

Actor Jeon No-min, who remarried actress Kim Bo-yeon in 2004, divorced in 2012 after eight years of marriage, trying to keep the process as discreet as possible. He also tried not to show any signs to his daughter. On TV Chosun’s “Now Alone” broadcast on the 9th, Jeon No-min said, “Adults’ problems do hurt children even if we try to shield them. They still get hurt, no matter how much we try to minimize it.”

He shared, “I sent my child to the U.S. to avoid showing them the situation. I held on for seven years for my child’s sake. That’s an adult’s perspective, but how can we know what children think?” When MC Park Mi-sun asked if he thought he handled it well, Jeon No-min replied, “There is no good way to handle it for the child. They were already hurt. The issue is how we help them recover and make them comfortable as we move forward. Saying ‘I won’t hurt my child’ is easier said than done.”

On the 16th, Jeon No-min further shared his thoughts on life after experiencing two divorces. He explained that he met Kim Bo-yeon while working on a drama, got closer during another project, and eventually married her. However, they divorced due to incompatibility.

Jeon No-min said, “I don’t usually talk about my personal life. No one around me knew when we broke up. I didn’t want to discuss it. I married and divorced someone in the same field, so how could I explain it? I can’t blame anyone else. It was my decision.”

He added, “Even now, people ask why I divorced. I used to be very sensitive about it, but now I just let it go. Nowadays, I’m very happy and enjoying life. There’s so much I haven’t done. I’m trying to live for myself now.”
