The infamous cheating scandal involving Sir David Beckham has resurfaced in the British media following his recent knighthood reviving one of the darkest chapters in his marriage to Victoria Beckham.

On November 4, the 50-year-old football legend was officially knighted by King Charles, receiving the long-awaited title of Sir for his contributions to sports and philanthropy. However, the celebration has also reopened painful discussions surrounding his alleged affair two decades ago.

Back in 2003, David Beckham’s former personal assistant Rebecca Loos claimed she had an affair with him. The story shocked the world, as Beckham—married to Spice Girls icon Victoria and father of two young sons at the time—vehemently denied all allegations.

He stated publicly, “In recent months, I’ve grown used to reading increasingly ludicrous stories about my private life. The truth is simple: I am happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special children. No one can change that.”

Years later, in 2023, Rebecca revisited the scandal on Good Morning Britain after Beckham and Victoria addressed the issue in their Netflix documentary. She insisted she had “never lied or exaggerated anything” and was “always honest about what happened.”

Rebecca recalled that the alleged encounter took place in a nightclub while Victoria was away, saying, “He kept staring at me, and I just couldn’t resist. We went back to his hotel.” She added, “I woke up with the most satisfied smile on my face. I knew it was wrong, but I couldn’t stop myself.”

Acknowledging the backlash she faced, Rebecca said, “I spoke out against England’s golden boy, so I knew it would be brutal. But I’m proud I had the courage to tell the truth.”

In the Netflix documentary “Beckham,” Victoria opened up for the first time about the pain that period caused her. She admitted, “It was the hardest time of my life because I felt like the whole world was against us. To be honest, we were against each other. Before Madrid, it felt like we were fighting the world together but in Spain, I didn’t feel that anymore, and it was heartbreaking.”

She continued, “I can’t describe how difficult it was or how deeply it affected me. It was a nightmare. Everything felt like a circus and everyone loves when the circus comes to town, except the people stuck inside it.”

When asked if she ever resented her husband, Victoria confessed, “To be honest, yes. It was the unhappiest time of my life. Not because I wasn’t heard, but because I was always trying to let him focus on what he needed.”

Now, as Beckham proudly carries the title of “Sir,” his knighthood has not only celebrated his achievements but also brought renewed attention to one of the most scandalous and emotional chapters of his personal life—one that still echoes in the public consciousness, two decades later.
