A major controversy is spreading across social media, with reports on X (formerly Twitter) alleging that Son Min Woo, a guest on the dating show ToGetHer, attempted suicide after enduring a year of organized cyberbullying. According to online discussions, the harassment allegedly stemmed from conflicts involving another guest, Kim Ri Won, and the production team’s handling of the situation. Son Min Woo reportedly survived the attempt but suffered severe injuries.

Korean netizens have compiled a timeline of allegations surrounding the case. It is claimed that Kim Ri Won concealed her past as an adult-content livestreamer on 18+ platforms in order to appear on the program. When Son Min Woo asked the production team to verify Ri Won’s professional background, producers allegedly relayed this request directly to Ri Won, triggering a direct confrontation rather than conducting a discreet review.

Further allegations accuse Ri Won of acting as a “broker,” attempting to recruit younger cast members some reportedly around 20 years old and more than a decade younger than her into suggestive livestreaming activities. Son Min Woo is said to have intervened to stop this. Following the exposure of Ri Won’s past and the disruption of her plans, tensions reportedly escalated into personal animosity, with claims that Son Min Woo became a primary target of attacks.

Criticism has also been directed at the ToGetHer production team. Online users allege that the producers failed to protect Son Min Woo, offering only verbal apologies. Although they initially promised to remove all related footage, the content was allegedly only partially edited and ultimately aired without full cuts.

Supporters of Ri Won are accused of engaging in organized cyberbullying against Son Min Woo for nearly a year, reportedly framing their actions as “defending women in sensitive professions.” During this period, Ri Won is also said to have attempted to expand into the Chinese social media market as an influencer, plans that allegedly collapsed amid ongoing accusations and disputes involving Son Min Woo.

The situation intensified when reports emerged that Son Min Woo, overwhelmed by sustained harassment and pressure, attempted suicide by jumping from a height, resulting in multiple fractures and serious injuries.

Adding to the controversy, separate allegations surfaced in late 2025 when an acquaintance accused Kim Ri Won of operating an entertainment entity that recruited women into adult livestreaming. The accuser claimed Ri Won lured financially struggling acquaintances with promises of high income and minimal exposure, only to later demand exorbitant contract termination fees when they tried to quit. Ri Won reportedly admitted to managing and supervising adult livestreamers in Korea.

The case has ignited widespread outrage toward both Kim Ri Won and the ToGetHer production team, with many criticizing what they see as negligence and a lack of accountability that contributed to a tragic outcome for someone who attempted to intervene and speak up.
