On March 5, China Times reported that Taiwan’s court granted Darren Wang bail after five hours of detention. The actor posted 5 million TWD (approximately 160,000 USD) for his temporary release. The judge concluded that Darren Wang and his accomplice posed no flight risk, had no access to destroy evidence, and could not collude on their testimonies.

When Darren Wang left the police station, his face was covered, and he was accompanied by his lawyer. Surrounded by reporters, he apologized after one of them fell but then made a mock gesture, smiling widely and waving at the cameras.

His defiant attitude on Weibo stirred public outrage, as many criticized his apparent lack of remorse, especially considering his actions nearly led to the deaths of two people.

The latest police report reveals that Darren Wang faces charges of attempted murder, illegal collection of personal data, inciting assault, and spreading false information. Authorities are also investigating his involvement in an illegal loan sharking operation that used violence to collect debts. With these criminal activities now coming to light, if convicted, the former youth idol could face a severe sentence.

On February 18, China Times reported that Taiwanese actor Darren Wang was arrested along with 10 others on suspicion of evading military service. The actor remained calm and cooperative during the arrest. The case is under investigation, and Darren Wang is set to be questioned by the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office later that day.
