On January 12, Danielle‘s legal representative, Law Firm HwaWoo, announced that Danielle had launched her own Instagram and YouTube channels, and would host a livestream that evening to connect directly with fans. The firm clarified the broadcast was “purely to communicate with fans” and unrelated to the ongoing lawsuit with ADOR.

True to the statement, Danielle did not reveal legal details during the stream but tearfully expressed her love for NewJeans’ fandom, Bunnies. This marked the first time Danielle has operated personal social media accounts, as all previous online activity during her NewJeans days was controlled by ADOR via group-managed platforms.

Danielle NewJeans Blue Dragon Awards

Danielle’s Instagram launch drew immediate attention not just from fans but also from who followed her account. Among those showing support were actress Im Se-mi, former idol and producer Lee Hae-in, and famed Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, who previously collaborated with NewJeans. The CEO of ComplexCon also followed her.

Notably, industry insiders from major fashion and luxury brands also rallied behind Danielle. Representatives from Celine, Omega, YSL Beauty, Nike Korea, Bottega Veneta, and Ami Paris were among her early supporters.

But what sparked the most buzz was a follow from the official Instagram account of the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The account follows only 10 users, including top celebrities like Kim Hye-soo, Lee Je-hoon, Han Ji-min, and Yoona, as well as media entities like KBS Entertainment, Sports Chosun, and High Cut. Danielle is now one of them.

Although there’s no publicly known project linking Danielle to the Blue Dragon Film Awards, she and NewJeans had previously performed at the 44th Blue Dragon ceremony in 2023.

Danielle is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with ADOR, who announced her contract termination and filed a massive lawsuit demanding around 43.1 billion KRW (approx. USD 32 million) in damages. ADOR stated it found it impossible to continue working with Danielle as part of NewJeans.

Despite the intense pressure and high-profile legal battle, Danielle’s quiet reemergence online and the unexpected support from fashion elites and Korea’s most prestigious film awards has sparked both public sympathy and curiosity. The next chapter of her career may be unfolding in real-time, and all eyes are on what Danielle does next.
