Dancers in BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s Solo MV Receive Hefty Pay? 

On June 26, BLACKPINK’s Lisa officially teased her solo comeback MV for “ROCKSTAR.” Just a few hours before, Lisa’s agency LLOUD had opened a “Q&A” session to listen to fans’ expectations ahead of the MV release. Matching fans’ anticipation, the MV teaser was released the following morning.

Before the MV teaser was released, however, a casting post on social media for the roles in Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR” MV started to draw attention in a Thai group named “Finding actors for films, ads, MVs, and events.”

Here is the specific content of the post (translated):

Job: MV for an international artist.

The casting post reveals that most of Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR” MV was filmed in her home country, Thailand, with nearly 100 Thai dancers, earning at least 40 USD/day – a high rate for the country. Additionally, all dancers were trained by a French choreographer.

According to previous information, Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR” MV was filmed over three consecutive nights from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. in Chinatown, Bangkok, Thailand. Just for the filming time in Chinatown, the dancers would earn about 240 USD for approximately 9 hours over 3 days.

Additionally, other roles in the casting post for Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR” MV include actors riding large motorcycles, skateboarders, LGBTQ/Drag queen actors, and other supporting actors.

Notably, the supporting actors in the MV might have fewer scenes and shorter filming times. Therefore, the pay offered by Lisa is considered quite generous by the online community.

It can also be seen that the payment for hundreds of dancers for one scene in Chinatown already totals to 24,000 USD, so the total amount paid for dancers throughout the MV could be quite heft.
